Back at Mazatlan for the last time, and for the third and last time I didn't
debark. I thought about it, but quite honestly after looking out over the
cityscape from my perch 150 off the ground I just didn't see much that
attracted me. Maybe it's the fact that the ship docks right at an
industrial area. Or maybe it's just that there's not much that's unique to
see. Based on what others have told me about Mazatlan, I guess I'm really
not missing much. Too bad. Princess does have cruises that go to
Xihuantaneo and I've heard that the beaches there are phenomenal. Someday
maybe I'll see.
Tonight we had a guest performer that's quite legendary aboard the ship. In
fact, when waiting to get on board the first day I arrived, one of the
musicians told me that I'd have the pleasure of working with him one day if
I stayed on long enough. Lo and behold, it took less than three weeks
before his show was scheduled in my theatre. Someday I'll tell you all
about it. I will say that after both shows, the production team took a
respite at the crew bar for some well-earned drinks.
To end the day, my roommate and crew chief for automation, Andrew, found a
video game up where he sits to run automation. Interesting way to end the
night, playing Pac-Man in your cabin while feeling the effects of a few
drinks. In so many ways, this life is completely reminiscent of college.
